Introduction

StarAsk is a children's AI bedtime story and educational answer platform.

These Terms govern your use of the StarAsk website (starask.app) and services.

By using StarAsk, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

StarAsk App is operated from Canada.

Who Can Use StarAsk

• You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
• StarAsk is designed for parents and guardians to use WITH their children aged 3-12, not for unsupervised use by children.
• Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts (COPPA compliance).
• Account owners are responsible for their account and any activity on it.

The Service

StarAsk uses AI to generate personalized bedtime stories and educational answers in audio (and sometimes illustrated) format.

Stories are generated on demand based on parent input.

We do our best to ensure content is appropriate for children, but AI-generated content may occasionally have errors or unexpected output. Parents should review content before sharing with their child.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• use StarAsk for illegal purposes;
• attempt to generate content that is harmful, sexual, violent, or inappropriate for children;
• try to bypass safety filters;
• reverse-engineer or scrape the service;
• share your account with others;
• use automated tools to access the service.

Content and Intellectual Property

• You retain rights to content you input (child names, topics).
• Stories generated for you are licensed to you for personal, family, non-commercial use.
• StarAsk and our branding remain our property.
• You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercialize generated stories without permission.

Subscriptions and Payment

Paid subscriptions, when available, will be billed monthly. Payment is handled by Stripe. Details on pricing, billing, and cancellation will be made available at sign-up.

Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers

• StarAsk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
• We don't guarantee uninterrupted service or that AI-generated content will always meet your expectations.
• StarAsk is not a substitute for professional educational, medical, or psychological advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StarAsk's total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months (or $0 if you haven't paid anything).

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email or on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
